Ysabella turns 1 Year Old!

(Grab a seat, grab a coffee...it's a bit of a long post today!)

I can't believe that this day has come and gone already. Come to think of it, I can't believe that this whole past year has come and gone already either. Our baby girl turned one year old today! Excuse me while I wipe away my tears and blow my nose.

Our lives have been transformed this past year and we couldn't imagine our lives without waking up to this precious little face every morning. Eerily, I woke up last night at the exact time that I woke up one year ago when my water broke just before I went into labour. We had such fun that day! I feel so fortunate that I can look back upon that day and remember how much fun, yes, fun my labour and delivery was. And who knew what complete joy and happiness this past year would bring us?! As I've already mentioned to a few people, being back at work has been very fulfilling for me. In the past, I was always excited for my patients that were first time parents-to-be. But since having Bella, I'm now even more excited for them knowing how a child will change their lives forever.

Ysabella woke up and started the day in a very happy and pleasant mood, but I'm afraid by the end of the very long day (and due to the appearance of her 2nd molar and recent many schedule changes with me returning to work, her starting daycare...), she ended up having an overall bit of a rough day. We did however, manage to sneak in a tiny little celebration in between her dinner and her bedtime.

And now, some much awaited pics for Aunty Amy (and everyone else too!). Many thank you's from Bella to everyone who couldn't be here to help her celebrate, but who were kind enough to send her well-wishes in the mail. We have also planned a celebration for her this Saturday with fellow little ones and yummy birthday cake. Based on today's pics though, I'm not sure what she's going to think of all these people in her house. Here's to hoping we don't traumatize her! (Look for more birthday pics after Saturday.)

One year ago (just a little reminder!):

And this morning. She fed herself her entire birthday breakfast!

Then she proceeded to spread yogurt in hair.

After a bath, and after a too short afternoon nap, it was off to pick gramma up at the airport...in front of the waterwall (and starting to get a bit cranky...)Then it was time to eat her dress (BTW thanks Lee! Can you believe she fits into it already?! When you gave it to us, I thought it would be at least 2 years before I'd see her in it!)
Present time!
"Wow, totally cool, a new set of wheels! Look out ma & pa, I'm gonna be walking in no time!!"

Birthday cake (or in this case, cupcake) time!! I've been singing the song all week so she'd be used to it for Saturday. She loved it for a while...she was fascinated by the candle..
Then she dipped her fingers and tried it out...Not sure if she likes it...
Nope. We'll blame it on the icing!! And the party was over that quickly. (It was her bedtime anyways.) Saturday should be fun! In the meantime, I'll bake a homemade birthday cake with hopefully tastier icing, and we'll practice, practice, practice the birthday song some more.
