There's so many photos to share that I can't possibly post them all at once. So, here's part one of who knows how many...
Well, we made it back to Ottawa safe and sound from our 9 day journey out west. We got home at midnight on December 30th and unfortunately, we came home to a flooded basement. It turns out that it could have been much, much worse, and nothing of value got damaged (thank goodness!), but we will have a very hefty water bill coming our way, as of now it's estimated to be about $680. I guess that's what happens when a tap runs full blast for almost 9 days straight! Hopefully the kind folks at the City of Ottawa will still be feeling some Christmas spirit and give us a bit of a break. The lesson for this holiday season: always turn off the main water line when leaving the house for longer than a day or two. Who knew?!?
Ysabella survived the plane rides to and from Victoria, and I have to say, she was a really good girl and she had no major crying fits, thankfully. We read lots of books, ate lots of fingerfood, sang lots of songs, jumped on mommy and daddy's laps, stared out the window at the clouds way below us, played with lots of toys and puppets...the list goes on and on. And she even learned how to flirt with the men sitting in the seat next to us on the planes. Look out!
A shot from the plane ride to Vancouver. The airline attendant was kind enough to find an extra seat for Ed to sit in so that Ysa could stretch out to try to sleep. I'm not sure how Ed scored that deal, but he got to watch a whole movie during the time he was relocated! (p.s. red cheeks due to the fact that she is teething again...tooth #7 poked through today.)
We finally made it! She's been waiting a long time to try Tita's cooking. Here she is having (and loving!) her first piece of Tita's Holiday Rosca(sp?).
Trying not to wear her Santa hat from Tito & Tita.
Oh yes, and the water, mountains, and green grass (sans snow!)...bliss.
That's it for now, more to follow.
We're still trying to get Ysabella back on her normal sleep schedule. The last 2 weeks have been harder than we thought with the 3 hour time difference on the west coast. It's wreaked havoc on her internal sleep clock. Here's to hoping she sleeps through the night tonite! Nighty-night all.
Wishing Everybody a Happy 2008!
