Ysabella's very first boat ride.

Lots of lessons learned this vacation. So, I thought 8 diapers would be enough for our one night (2 day) trip to Vancouver to visit my friend Tom and his new wife Denise. I learned in the first hour and a half that 8 diapers was NOT enough. Wow, was I ever off, not too sure what I was thinking. She pooped 4 TIMES!! on the hour and a half ferry ride over to Vancouver. Ah well. We're learning as we go I suppose. We made a quick pit stop at the local Safeway and all was made better with one $20 purchase of a mega pack of diapers (that was all they carried of course...I only needed about 5!!) Not wanting to waste good diapers, the good news is that Tom & Denise will be with child in the near future (September to be exact), and their baby will be in size 2 diapers soon enough.

Ed & I were happy that before Tito sells his baby, his 1974 Valiant, that Ysabella was able to take a road trip in it with us. We drove up to Nanaimo in my favourite car of all time to catch the ferry to Vancouver.
As I said in a previous blog, Ysabella loves the wind. So, I took Ysa out on the boatdeck to see just how windy it really was. I was a bit protective of her. I kept her hat on her, I held her tight, and I sheltered her as much as I could from the wind, but as you can see from my hair, there was nowhere for me to hide!

Ysa inside the boat with Ed. (After poop #2 but before poop #3??)
If you know Ysabella, than you know her "ooh, it's windy!" face. Go back and check out once more the windy sequence of photos on May 8th's post. Well, here is that face once again, this time with her daddy on the boatdeck.
Keeping Ysabella occupied and smiling on the big boat.

For pure laughter's sake (at my expense.) Again, take note of the look on Bella's face, especially in the third photo! heehee.

Why we love BC so much.
And finally, all pooped out. Literally.
More of Vancouver to come tomorrow. (wow, are these posts ever getting really long!)
