Ysabella traveled much better than both Ed and I had anticipated. No gravol was needed, I'm happy to report! We left the house very, very early in the a.m. to catch our flight to BC. The first leg of our flight was to Calgary, and Ysabella loved the airplane ride. We were very fortunate to have an empty seat between Ed and I. We were able to put Ysa down between us to give our arms a break, for her to take her naps, as well as for her to stretch out and have a giggle session with her daddy (as seen in these photos).
We had a short layover in Calgary and I'm so happy that my girl Jen and her hubby Eric were able to meet us at the airport for a quick (too quick, I'm afraid!) lunch and some catching up. It was great to see them both again as we haven't seen them since our wedding...and Ysa got to meet her Aunt Gub! (don't worry, I won't really let her call you that!) BTW Eric, what happened to your shirt! LOL!Before we knew it, it was back on the plane for an hour-long jaunt to Victoria. As soon as we stepped off the plane we could smell the salt water in the air. We were happy to see that it was a sunny day in a normally rainy Victoria...and it stayed that way until the day before we left!
Tito and Tita, Tia Maria (who couldn't wait to smell Ysa!) and cousin Savannah picked us up at the airport, then it was off to Tito and Tita's house for a yummy home cooked spanish lunch and for everybody to get acquainted with the new baby of the family.
Savannah and Tita:
Me and Savannah: Tia Maria and a very sleepy Ysa:
Ed and big bro Sal deep in conversation.
Tita and Tia Vicki: I'm hoping that Ysabella keeps her eye colour...the beautiful blue colour of her Tito and cousin Savannah (as seen by the photo taken by Savannah!)
Ysabella had no problem adjusting to the Pacific Standard Time Zone, I wish I could say it was the same story upon return home (she's still adjusting, as am I). Well that's all for Day 1. It was a very long day indeed. More photos and stories to come. Hello to everybody in Victoria! We're missing you already!
