Autumn & Thanksgiving.

Winter is well on it's way here in Ottawa. Some may say I'm full of bologna, but when the highs for the week only reach a maximum of 9 C, I say that qualifies for COLD. At least it does in my books. Where did the Indian summer go? It's been rainy and wet for the last 2-3 weeks. Yucky! However, the beautiful fall colours seem to be at their peak (and have been for at least a week or so), much earlier this year than they were four years ago. On our wedding day October 1st, 2005, it was sunny and a balmy 24 degrees Celsius with only a few trees changing colour. We were pretty darn lucky, I'd say.

I haven't had the opportunity to take many outdoor shots lately. Each day it's sunny (and lately those days have been few and far between), I seem to be working. And when I'm off, it's dreary and raining.

Last week I took a drive out to 'the country' a.k.a. Alexandria, to visit my friend Miranda. The drive along the 417 east towards Montreal was absolutely beautiful! I couldn't resisit pulling out the camera (yes, while driving) to take a photo. (No worries, I just clicked away without actually looking in the lens/focusing...I remained safe...) Here's a few of the pics.

The rainy days leaves lots of time for indoor play. Fort building, colouring, Legos, playing with trains, etc. etc. etc...

And finally, although I worked all weekend again (are you all tired of me complaining about having to work all the time? I really do love my job, love the girls I work with...I just hate the too numerous weekend/holiday hour requirements...) we were able to host a Thanksgiving dinner thanks to my wonderful hubby. While I slept, he prepared the bulk of the meal. And when I awoke, we had some friends over for a deeelicous turkey dinner with all the fixings. Yum-Yum!

My favourite part of the night, in addition to having wonderful friends over with amazing food and great wine, was when out of the blue, Ysabella said: "I'm thankful for my mommy." My heart just about melted.

Ysabella enjoys her thanksgiving meal at the children's table. (When I was a child, I always loved eating with the other kids at the kid's table...)

Technology. Phoenix's texts his mom during dinner, who just happens to be sitting at the table right next to her!

Silliness.

Dessert and playtime.

More goofiness.

And finally, I wanted to share a photo.
Congratulations to Miranda and Andrew, who were married October 9th, 2009. A beautiful wedding, despite the rainy weather. :)
