The before shot:
Just getting started, May.
June
And finally, here it is, the finished product:
Well, it's almost finished. The other day, I was thinking that the Summer of 2010 would forever be known as The Summer of The Shed. But then I realized that Ed actually started the shed in May. It's now October. That means three seasons have passed. I think Ed is secretly waiting until December to finish up the electrical and fix the door/door frame so that he can say it took four seasons to complete. (Ed would have finished it sooner, if only he didn't have a 9-5, 5 day a week job. Or a wife who does 12 hours night/day shiftwork. Or a wife that was pregnant with threatened preterm labour. Or 2 young children....Let's just say retirement is looking sweet!)
What others have said about our shed:
"Geez, that's nicer/bigger than your house!"
"That's one tall shed!"
"Are you housing your in-laws there?"
"Ed, you finally got your drum room!"
"What is it, the servant's quarters?!"(Nah, we can't afford a house like that. However, if we could afford servants, I'd yell to them: "Make me a milkshake!" ;-)
"You could put the children in the rafters for time-outs!"
And our 80 year old neighbour Bill, well, he looks at our shed (which towers over his), and he just shakes his head. We love Bill. And the fact that he's retired and built his shed in about a week!
p.s. The leaves have been raked! (It took a few bags.)
