Happy 7 months Ysabella!

Today Ysabella is 7 months old. I'm trying not to cry. ;) I am, though, proud to say that Bella has figured out the 'mmm' sound and has officially said 'mamamama'. Perhaps not referring to me exactly, but I love to hear that sweet sound, nonetheless. And I forgot to mention that while in Windsor, she learned (thanks to gramma Pat) to play patty-cake...albeit solo. Today was an otherwise uneventful day, we had lunch with Ysa's papa...and I took a few photos to mark the the 7 month occasion.
Playing with her many toys:Forever chewing on Sophie the Giraffe (courtesy of Gramma Pat). She loves this rubber giraffe!
Crazy Hair!
Reaching for toys...she always face plants because she goes beyond her reach. I'm trying to teach her to use her arms, but that's proving to be more difficult than I thought.

So, because this blog posting is not terribly interesting, I thought I'd post that story that I mentioned in the previous post. A lesson for all of you with/planning to have children.

So, there Ysa and I were, in the Windsor Airport at the gate (past security) waiting to board our plane to return to Ottawa. Sitting across from me was another young mother and her daughter Catherine, a little brunette girl who appeared to be about 2-3 years old. Catherine was a lively wee one, walking around the waiting area, exploring her surroundings with her Grover backpack on and two pacifiers, one in her mouth and the second one hanging off the first one (just in case, I suppose). Now, we were taking a small puddle jumper to Toronto, a prop plane, but it was almost filled to capacity with passengers, about 31 or so people to board, all of whom were waiting in the seating area with us.

Then the Air Canada attendant came on the overhead speaker of the waiting area to say that the plane to Toronto had a lavatory that was inoperable, so if there was anybody that needed to use the bathroom, to please do so in the airport before boarding the plane. So, off goes Catherine and her mother with her stroller, and all of their belongings to the bathroom, a single room on the perimeter of the waiting/gate area (Windsor's Airport is not very big, I think there's only 4 gates or so, 2 of which are off the same waiting area...you get the point, it's small...) So, about 3 minutes later, I looked up to see directly in my viewing area (and the 29 other passenger's as well!!) the young women on the toilet with her pants down around her knees! Her eyes are popping out of her head, like a deer in headlights, and all you can hear is "Catherine, close the door. Catherine, I said close the door. Catherine...mommy said close the door right now!". Catherine evenutally listened to her mother (I'll have you know I was on my way to close the door for her, but the little girl finally did as she was told and beat me to it...) She must have been absolutley mortified! I think if that was me, I would have stayed in there and missed my flight altogether. Ahh yes, the joys of toddlerhood...what I have to look forward to. Note to self: STRAP toddler IN the stroller while going to the bathroom! Got it. :)
