Ysabella had a bit of a rough/whiney day yesterday, and who can blame her really? In addition to her 3rd molar making it's appearance, she was anticipating the third winter storm of March! Let's just say it was a bit more than all of us could handle. I think it's fair to say that the Rama household is getting a major case of the winter blues, and very anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spring. This has been one
l-o-n-g winter! I've heard reports that it is the 2nd snowiest winter on record here in Ottawa, the snowiest being the winter of 1970-1971. Apparently the winter of '70/'71 had a total of 444 cm (about 15 feet!) of snow that fell, and as of early yesterday we had already reached 350 cm (almost 12 feet). Weather reports were calling for anywhere between 30 and 50 cm with this snowdump. It's more snow than I have
ever seen, that's for sure! I say "Enough already!!" We're going stir crazy and are more than ready to start taking our daily walks, playing at the park in the sun and the grass, not to mention swimming in the pool!
All that being said, Ed went off to do groceries last night, just around the block and it took him almost 2 hours! Apparently it was crazy busy, everybody having the same idea as us: stock up and get errands finished before the big snowstorm hits! We planned it so that we could just huddle in the house today, playing and staying warm and cozy in our pyjamas. And that we did! (Except for the part where Ed had to go outside and shovel!) Off he went to shovel the snow that fell during the night, but we opted to wait until the end of the snowfall to finish shoveling because it was crazy windy with lots of snowdrifts. As I sit here writing this I see lightening and hear thunder in the sky. What a crazy snowstorm!!
Here's a few pics from today:
You can barely see Ed over the snowbank in front of the window.

Watching papa shovel out the front window...

Some backyard snow pics. Check out the back left corner! Those cedar hedges are about 8 feet tall!

We can't get to our bird feeders! (BTW, that pole is about 6 feet tall.) Poor birdies...I hope they're not starving!

Playing rolley-rolley with daddy. She was in an awesome mood today! She's so cuddly and affectionate now! Gotta love a baby that cuddles with you! (We'd love her anyways, no worries!) ;)

The blizzard-like conditions late this afternoon. I think we'll ask our neighbour if we can borrow their snowblower tomorrow....it's gonna be deep!
