Baby Picasso!

We went to our usual playgroup yesterday afternoon, but this week Ysabella got to participate in something special...she created her very first art masterpiece! Thank goodness the paint was homeade and non-toxic because Ysabella decided that in addition to fingerpainting, she wanted to taste the paint also! She dove head first into the paint to try to lick it as best she could! And when she lifted her head, the paint was all over her face, nose, mouth, and cheeks! (I have to take responsibility for this, as I often let her 'fingerpaint' with her apple sauce, while she's sitting in her highchair, and she always tries to lick it up when she's finished playing!) The co-ordinator of the program was laughing so hard at Ysabella that she had to take pictures of her while she was getting down and dirty with the paint. I'm still waiting on Kathy to send me the aforementioned photos, and when she does, I will most certainly post them, as they surely can't be missed! For now, a photo of the masterpiece that our little Picasso created. Ysabella was in a bit of a mood this evening. Here she is laughing so hard at her mommy telling the funny story of her fingerpainting incident. She thought it was just hilarious, and the laughing was contagious...all 3 of us were laughing for about 10 minutes!


Christmas came early for our little Bella this year. In my never-ending search to find things to keep Ysa busy/occupied and stimulated, we decided it was time for her to open some of the Christmas presents that she got from our family in Windsor. These gifts were hand delivered by cousin Jacob and Uncle Kenny this past weekend. (More on this past weekend in tomorrow's post). My search was successful! In addition to some new toys and clothes (she thought both were very cool!), she also learned to love bags, boxes, wrapping paper and tissue paper. She was occupied the entire evening and to nobody's surprise, didn't want to go to bed...way too much excitement and fun! Thank you much to Gramma Pat, Uncle Fred and Auntie Bernice for the gifts. Ysabella loves them already!
