Another busy weekend has come and gone for the Rama household, but I'm happy to report that a whole lot was accomplished! Again, the weather was very cooperative here in Ottawa. My hubby is turning into quite the handyman, my dad would be very proud. (p.s. Uncle Randy, Ed found yet
another use for the 'awl' or 'all'?? that you gave him...he loves that tool!). Over the course of the past few weeks, he has fixed the structure of the entire deck (it was harder than it looked!), as well as replacing the old, rotted boards (again, harder than it looked)...saving us probably thousands of dollars that it would have taken to tear down and re-do the deck. We have washed most of it (the rest will will do in the spring...) and wow, does that Behr Deck Cleaner and Brightener ever work well! (Yep, I'm a walking commercial for this stuff!) And it's biodegradeable, so we didn't kill the environment either! We will also stain it in the spring and that should do the trick for oh, 4-5 more years...hopefully.
The Deck-Before shot. Rotted boards replaced, but not yet washed.

The upper deck after it has been washed. As you can see, the lower portion of the deck hasn't been washed yet...there is only so many hours in the day, week and summer! This week is pool closing time. :(

And now on to more important things, namely, Ysabella. Yesterday, she tried, and didn't like cottage cheese. Not sure if it was the taste, or the texture that she found so repulsive, but either way, I still managed to find it cute, and so, took some pictures, of course.

Oh, and Ysabella has taken to grinding her wee teeth lately. It gives me chills up and down my spine whenever she does it. Hopefully, this won't be a habit that persists...
Eww, that is a terrible noise! Charley did it a bit, but got over it... so I'm sure she will too. She is CUTE!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Charley hated/hates cottage cheese too. Maybe it's a myth that babies like it?
