Tummy Bugs.

I arrived home to Ottawa last Tuesday just in time to catch the tail-end of Bella's gastro. It lasted longer than usual, almost 5 days. On Wednesday, she was doing well (ie; she was barf-free) for over 24 hours, and I thought she was in the clear, so, I sent her to daycare as scheduled. She did the usual daycare stuff; she played, she coloured, she ate lunch. She came home as usual but then she was a bit off and she didn't feel up to eating dinner, so we didn't force the issue. She went to bed that night and she slept well, however, she woke up at 1am, walked to the bathroom and promptly vomited all over the floor. Good times. And (I know this is totally gross) I could tell you exactly what she ate for lunch at daycare 13 hours before! Poor thing, no wonder she didn't want to eat dinner. :(

Why, you might ask, am I including such gory detail in this post? Because on Friday when I picked her up from daycare, she showed me this picture that she had drawn earlier that day:She explained it to me like this: "This is a picture of me with all the bugs in my tummy".

Ooh! Of course! Now I see it!

And, just in case you didn't catch the amazing detail that she included, here's a closer view.
She pointed to the mouth and said: "See this mommy? This is my throw-up coming out of my mouth... it's my toast!"
(sorry, again, but I can't seem to get this photo to turn the proper way...)

Well, it looks just about right to me. Definitely a keeper.
