Water, water and more water.

Our reno's are almost complete. Aside from the million and one last minute little jobs, the only 2 major things left to do are: 1) the exterior siding of the new pool shed , and 2) making it all pretty inside! That means that our pool is finally up and running and is CLEAN! (It's even warming up a bit!)

Bella's new favourite thing to do is to help daddy fill the swimming pool. (This occupied her for a good 30 minutes.)

Because we opened it so very late this year, our pool started out green and looked like it actually had seaweed in it. So, it took much longer than usual for Ed to clean it up and clear it out. In the meantime, it was like, 100F here in Ottawa. So, to help us cope with the heat and humidity we went down to one of the many neighbourhood splash pads/pools. This particular one is located behind the Greenboro Library/Community Centre, just a short walk from our house. (Now don't get me wrong, we didn't actually walk there on this day...it was a bit too hot and humid for that!) This pool, as it turns out, is the perfect size for Bella right now. At it's deepest, it only goes up to her chest. Marvelous. No life jacket required, just the sharp eyes of the 3 lifeguards on duty (and Ed and I, of course). She was free to splash around to her heart's content, and we were free to sit on a lawn chair (and actually relax for an hour or two), and watch her as she played and made friends.

Running in one of the splash pad fountains.

No time to talk! A quick run by and a flash of a smile for the camera.

It's much more fun to run in the water!
