It's hard to believe it's April already. The weather here in Ontario sure is playing tricks on us. It was 27C on Friday and 30C yesterday. I even had to pull out the sunscreen and summer clothes. If this is any indication of the summer to come, it's going to be a doozy! I can't wait, though I fear I'll have to be patient just a little while longer. It's supposed to rain and be cooler for the rest of the week....spring-like weather, I suppose. (I'll take it over winter any day!)
First off, I'd like to start by saying that I am OFF this ENTIRE weekend! YAY!!! You have to understand, with me working shift work, days, nights, holidays, and for what seems every important event that I can think of, I don't remember the last time I was off for an entire long weekend (and neither does Ed). This is a huge deal, and I do NOT take it for granted. (I don't mean to harp on this point again, I really do love my job, it's just that the hours suck...) It happened by coincidence, just the way my schedule fell, but really, I couldn't have asked for it to happen at a better time. I've had a bit of spring fever and it has been glorious to wake up to the morning sun, and warm temps. Walks, picnics, a few outdoor chores, a bit of holiday cooking, some time with friends...a little taste of summer has done us all some good.
Friday, we went to our friend's house on the Canal for an afternoon of fun and relaxation followed by a turkey dinner. There was an easter treat hunt which ended with way too much chocolate, as well as egg decorating for the kiddies. We planned to go for a long walk on the Canal after dinner, but I'm afraid the tryptophan set in before we could get our butts off the chairs.
(and a great big thank you to Auntie Yvonne for her Easter dress!)
