She really didn't like her shots today. Dr. Sara gave the first shot in her left leg. She screamed and cried and then down came the biggest tears I've ever seen. Broke my heart. Than there was the second shot in her right leg. She looked right at me as if to say "Another one mommy?! How could you let this happen to me again???!"...and she cried and cried some more. And I almost cried. But I didn't. All in all, she recovered very well and had a good evening. She's slept a bit harder and longer than usual, but she's doing just fine.
Some sad news to report. We think our feathered child Frankie (almost 4 years old) is sick. :( For the past few months she's been sleeping (standing) on the bottom of her cage in the corner. This is not normal bird behaviour! She's also not herself, more withdrawn, almost depressed, doesn't chirp or talk anymore. And lately, we've noticed that her flying has been off...landing off her mark, bumping into things...and we've noticed that her balance hasn't been very good while standing on her perch (which probably explains why she's been sleeping on the cage bottom). She's still eating okay though, which is good news. We've heard birdie tumours are common...we hope that's not the case.
Here's some pics taken today of Frankie and Ysabella. Occasionally, Frankie still comes out to visit us. She often lands on Ysabella's swing while she's in it, just to check things out. Here Frankie is being curious again. As for Ysabella, well, she's really been paying lots of attention to her toes, feet and legs. And she's able to grasp toys to play with them too. This is her new favourite play position, with her feet and legs in the air. She's happiest this way...talking and 'singing' and giggling up a storm. She sure is making her mum and dad laugh these days!

And here she is making her mum laugh.
