On our first day at the beach we met a kind man of Native Mohawk origin (he was originally from the New York area). We had an hour long conversation with him. He was an interesting sort of fella, full of opinions on many different subjects. Just before we said goodbye, he gave our family a Mohawk blessing, one which included eagle feathers and sweetgrass. I discreetly (er, secretly) took this photo of him because it was such an interesting experience for all of us.
Well, it was an interesting experience for almost all of us.
