A Sprinkle of Fun!

Such a beautiful Sunday! What could be better than a 3 year old that slept in until almost 1030am? Despite the fact that her big girl room is almost complete, Ysabella has told me "I don't think I'm ready for a big girl bed, mama". The fact that she can even speak this sentence leads me to believe that she is more than ready, she just isn't willing. She has tried, only once (unsucessfully), to climb out of her crib in the past 3 years. She loves it! We have tried and tried and tried to get her to sleep in her new bed, all without success. I don't want to push the issue, but the time will come when she'll have to make the move. Sooner than she thinks. I just don't want her to feel that the new baby is responsible for booting her out of her crib, so I'd like her to make the transition willingly, sooner rather than later. And before this pregnancy, we figured, why fix what isn't broken?...she'll get into a big bed...eventually. You know, when she shows some interest/asks for one!!?? (She never did.)

She boasts that she has long legs and that she can almost reach the other end of her crib. No kidding! I tell her it's because she's 3 1/2 years old and that she's too big for her crib! (She'll hear nothing of it.)
Today we finally got around to planting our tomato plants. While everybody else's plants in the neighbourhood already have fruit growing on them, ours are still wee baby plants. If we're lucky we'll have tomatoes by October!

It was a perfect day today, weatherwise. Sunny and warm, but not too hot. Bella needed to cool down, and since the pool isn't open yet, out came the sprinkler!

Bella's first run through the sprinkler provided some cool relief, but it wasn't without a bit of shock.

This reminds me of a professional head shot for a business person (except for the part where she's a 3 year old sporting a bathing suit). What do ya think? Real estate agent? Politician? Salesperson? Writer?
