Devastation in Haiti

On Tuesday, while my friends and colleagues gathered to celebrate the impending arrival of our good friend Sandra's first baby, a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know the devastation that this has caused in an already politically unstable and poor country. It is feared that 100,000 people may be dead. Sandra and her husband John are still awaiting the news to hear whether or not John's mother and other family members survived, as well as Sandra's grandfather and many cousins and friends. I cannot imagine what they are going through.

There is aid and emergency relief on the way to Haiti from countries all around the world. But every little bit helps. If you can spare $5, $10, $20, or even $50, it would be appreciated by the people of Haiti (and by Sandra and John) more than you know. On this page is a list of registered charities accepting donations for Haiti.

Thank you.
