Such a sorry bunch we are here. Ed's detached retina appeared to be healing well. He breezed through his follow-up appointment on Tuesday only to have a repeat blind spot occur in the same eye (different area) on Wednesday evening. So, back to the emergency room we went on Wednesday night for another exciting four hours, followed by another jaunt to the Ottawa Eye Institute Thursday morning. The good news: he won't be going under the knife anytime soon. The procedure that was done last week was repeated this morning and he has the weekend to see if his eye will heal sans surgery. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
To top it off, I've been feeling yucky all week, since Sunday. I've been coughing since late Tuesday night and last night I spiked a fever which under normal circumstances wouldn't be an issue. But it just didn't fit in with my whole clinical picture of just a plain cold or flu. (A fever now? Why not days ago??) And this cough, my chest was killing me. So, off I went to the emergency room last night for another 4 hours. Diagnosis: Pneumonia. No wonder! I'm on a pretty hefty antibiotic and I'm already starting to rid my body of the toxic stuff. I actually managed to have a long enough break in the coughing that I was able to get some sleep today. If only my chest/back/abdominal muscles could now heal from all the wretched coughing my body's been going through.
The lame hubby and wife combo showing off our mementos from our visits to the hospital. (BTW, I've been there waaayy too much this week to not be getting paid for it!) ;)

On a positive note...Bella is her usual happy baby self again! Her cold is gone, her 2 upper eye teeth have emerged, and her diaper rash is gone. YAAYYY! She's smiley and giggly and funny and super-cuddly. Her love of food has returned (which makes Ed very happy) and she's been keeping us smiling through the past week. We're so grateful that Gramma has been here to help us out, she's been amazing.
Showing us her new hat.

Looking at mummy sooo seriously. (Actually, I think she's staring at the camera thinking about how she can make it her new favourite toy.)
