Sorry it's been so long!

It's been 6 weeks since our last post...I wish I could say that it's been because we had nothing to say, but it has more to do with the fact that we've just been so busy. The kitchen renovations are basically finished, just waiting on a few last minute details, the major living areas of the house have been repainted (for the 3rd time in a year and a half!...yeah, Ed's real happy about that!), and the spare room is nearly completed as well. The baby's room has also been painted, just waiting on the nursery furniture to be delivered, the pool liner has been installed, and the pool has been closed for winter. Not to mention the fact that we've both been working our regular hours so we can make money to pay off all these renovations. Ed's summer soccer has ended and he's now back to playing hockey and indoor soccer for the very, very, very long winter that I still dread in Ottawa.

As for me, well, I'm definitely looking prego now, 26 weeks +5 days, rounding out nicely so-to-speak...and what will I be doing for the rest of the winter 'till this little one's born you ask? NO
THING as of yesterday, apparently. I've been contracting since 22 weeks, and before you all say that I should have known better because I work in L&D, no, I've never been pregnant before and people kept telling me that having some contractions was normal. Well, I've been having more than that 'normal' amount, so much so that at my appointment yesterday my lovely Dr. Nathalie Fleming told me that I was dilated already. Soooo, that means I'm off work for now, not quite on bed rest, but if Ed had his way I would be, and I'm left to not do much of anything but sit on my butt, atleast for the next week until my next doctor's appointment. (Hmm, maybe I should finally think about getting to work on those wedding photo albums to send to everyone a year and a half later!!!) I was given 2 shots of steroids in my butt 24 hours apart to help develop baby's lungs should I deliver prematurely (but I won't...we've already had lots of chats with my uterus, cervix, and baby too). I also had an ultrasound today. Baby's doing great, head down now (I knew it was a smart baby!) and already weighing in at 2lbs 2oz or 970 grams! Still don't know the sex. Hey, maybe we'll have time to get some baby name lists going too! I've included some photos to go with this very looong post. The first photo is of myself and my growing belly, courtesy of my personal photographer Yvonne (thanks!) who's been kind enough to document my pregnancy via photos. I'm no model, let me tell you! P.S. that shadow behind me is supposed to be there, it's artistic! The other two are 3-D ultrasounds from today. I'm definitely sure that baby will be a very flexible soccer player now! The baby, for almost the whole hour the U/S took to complete, never once moved it's feet and legs, yes, feet and legs from around his/her face! I tried to tell it that it would be much easier to suck it's thumb, but it clearly didn't listen to me. These were the best of the 3-D photos that were taken, and from what we could see, the baby has my nose, and Eddy's lips...and my sleep habits (hopefully!) The baby surely looks peaceful in these photos. Oh, and seriously, it really was trying to suck it's big toe! (baby appears to have my 'monkey' feet as well!)

And that's it for now (I think enough, no???) Renovation photos to follow... eventually. Once final details are completed. We hope everybody is doing well, we miss you all!
