Last night, as a result of 90km winds and storms that hit Ottawa and the surrounding areas, another 50 year old tree fell. :( This time it was our neighbour's tree, the tree on the property across the street from us. And THIS time the tree landed on our car. I'm happy to say that we were able to move it out from under the tree branches and that there was only minor damage (and that nobody was hurt!), thank goodness. It was the craziest wind I'd ever seen, worse than when our own tree fell. (Yes, the thought crossed my mind more than once to head for the basement with the kids.) Instead, I stupidly watched the tree fall and hoped that it wouldn't reach our front window.
As of 3pm today the tree is still blocking our driveway (and our entire street for that matter!). Apparently there are many, many trees down across the city, so who knows how long it will take to clear it up this time. We drove our van across our lawn to free ourselves from the driveway. The poor neighbourhood birds are so confused.
In the meantime, Bella had fun this morning during Alex's nap!

(A photo of our buried car to follow when pics from my phone are transferred to my computer.)
